• Telecoms Civils Supervisor
• Cornwall
• c\xc2\xa335,000 to \xc2\xa338,000 per year
• Plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private pension, flexible-working, etc.

Skills and Experience:

• NRSWA Supervisor qualification
• SSSTS/SMSTS Qualification
• BT/Openreach PIA accreditation
• Knowledge of NRSWA legislation
• Completion of tasks as per NEC3, as specified for a supervisor role.
• Using CEMAR to report defects and site issues.
• Report progress of construction works to the Management team.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and line manage the civils/cabling/splicing gangs to ensure control and management of the 3rd party civils/cabling sub-contractors, on-site
• Manage any welfare requirements of the civils/cabling/splicing gangs
• Liaise with local authorities and residents as appropriate to ensure compliance with local requirements prior to and during any construction
• Provide technical expertise and be a point of contact for contractors; this includes all civils (including re-instatement), cabling and splicing/testing activities, plus production/completion of associated (as-built) documentation within agreed timescales
• Ensure all documentation is in place to commence civils work
• Make sure all quality checks are completed
• Support the ongoing development of the auditing process
• Liaise with Management in setting objectives to improve civils coordination on the ground
• Help and advise the existing team in bringing together pre-construction information and provide the information designers and contractors need to carry out their duties
• Review the risk assessments and method statements on regular basis

The Opportunity: My client working within the telecoms sector are currently looking for a Telecoms Civils Supervisor on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the supervision of associated civils works for telecoms infrastructure in the public highway including excavation, duct, cabinet and new chamber installations, backfill and re-instatement. Co-ordinating teams of both directly employed and subcontract labour, to ensure that operational and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the works and services are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.
