The role Babcock have been awarded the contract to manage and modrnise the MOD\'s satellite network, Skynet, a family of military communications satellites that provides strategic communication services to the UK Armed Forces and its allies. As part of this programme, we are looking for an experienced with current expertise in the design and implementation of Internet Protocol (IP) networks. As a Telecommunications Engineer you\'ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. leading the design of new IP and VoIP systems and upgrades to current infrastructure, to deliver new service capability. Day-to day you\'ll:
Ensure new services and systems meet UK security requirements.
Manageobsolescence within the existing system to ensure the system remains supportable and compliant to security requirements.
Manage the installation and configuration of new system elements.
Test and commissioning of new equipment and services.
Provide third-line support to the operations teams.
This role is full-time, 37-hours per week, and can be based at either our Bristol or Corsham offices. We offer hybrid/agile working options with a requirement to work on site two days per week. Essential experience of the Telecommunications Engineer
Cisco accreditation, at least CCNA, CCNP preferred.
Experience in the design and delivery of IP communication networks.
Knowledge of VoIP network architectures
Experienced in working for a telecoms or satellite communication company.
Qualifications for the Telecommunications Engineer:
Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline
Please note that this position is subject to national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances). Our Benefits
