Job Description

The School of Psychology, at the University of Bedfordshire, is looking to recruit a technician to join its existing technical support team. The role is based at the Park Square Campus and will involve providing technical support for undergraduate and post-graduate activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, preparation and demonstration of resources and equipment within the school.

Candidates will hold a BSc in a relevant science or equivalent practical experience. The ideal candidate for this post will be a highly motivated and experienced technician with a broad range of computer skills (especially in the use of Psychology specific software), knowledge of cognitive and biological psychology equipment and experience of supporting experiments with guidance.

You will be expected to participate in the general running of the teaching spaces, particularly in the areas of health and safety. You will also work closely with students and academic members of staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the teaching spaces and associated services across the School. You will be required to assist the school with outreach events, such as open days, as well as taking on tasks to increase the school\xe2\x80\x99s digital presence.

You will need to be very well organised, practical and diligent. You will also need to be an excellent communicator and be prepared to work flexibly.
