Job Description

As a Technical Trainer within our delivery team, you'll shape the future of technical learning at ANS Academy. Building on our 'Outstanding' OFSTED rating, you will support curriculum development to empower our apprentices with advanced technical knowledge, skills, and behaviours. In this role, you will not only plan and deliver practical based learning, you'll also mentor apprentices and support the drive to improve training, assessment, and progress management--ensuring that every aspect of our apprenticeship delivery continues to excel.

What will I be doing?



Deliver Exceptional Technical Training: Develop, refine, and deliver engaging, hands-on curriculum across advanced technical areas--including networking, cloud computing, architecture, cybersecurity, and professional skills--ensuring a challenging yet accessible learning environment for Level 3 Apprentices. Option to support and develop into Level 4 programs. Manage & Assess a Dedicated Caseload: Take full responsibility for a caseload of up to 30 apprentices. Oversee their progress through regular assessments and progress reviews, offering personalised guidance to prepare them effectively for their EndPoint Assessments (EPA) and subsequent career milestones. Lead Professional Certification Initiatives: Support the development the delivery of professional certification programmes (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA) covering key areas such as cloud, AI, and security. Ensure that training is current and aligned with industry standards to develop apprentices with cutting-edge technical expertise. Develop & Delivery Level 2 Functional Skills: Deliver tailored support in Functional Skills (English, Maths) to your assigned learners, establishing a strong foundation that complements their technical training. Integrate Holistic Skills Development: Contribute actively to the design and delivery of curricula that extend beyond technical content. Integrate essential soft skills-- including communication, problem-solving, and teamwork--so apprentices develop a well-rounded professional profile. Collaborate with Senior Leadership & Operations: Maintain consistent, proactive communication with the Senior Technical Trainer and Academy Operations Manager. Use these insights to implement targeted support and adaptive training strategies ensuring every apprentice's progression is clearly mapped and achieved. Innovate & Evolve Curriculum Content: Work collaboratively in the ongoing development and enhancement of Level 3 curricula. Utilize industry trends, o feedback from peers, and emerging best practices to ensure your training remains at the forefront of technical education. Commit to Continuous Professional Development: Actively pursue opportunities for your own growth by engaging in ongoing professional development. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and pedagogical strategies and share your expertise with colleagues through staff development initiatives. Support Wider Learning & Development Initiatives: Embrace additional responsibilities as required, contributing to cross-functional projects and academy-wide learning and development strategies that enhance the overall quality and impact of our apprenticeship programmes

What will I bring to this role?



Essential



At least 1+ years teaching/tutor experience Experience of preparing and delivering sessions. Secure knowledge of various technologies including Cloud, Security, Infrastructure and Hardware. Previous experience of FE level digital education (e.g. TLevel/apprenticeship/bootcamp/adult skills) or commercial training

Desirable



At least 3+ years teaching/training experience. Ability to teach foundational tier Microsoft qualifications, Cisco CCST suite, Linux essentials and CompTIA Tech+/A+ or equivalent. Understanding of software development including languages and practices. Experience of delivering level 2 Mathematics and/or English

What is needed to do this role?



Essential



Level 3 or above Teaching/Trainer Qualification Minimum of grade C/4 in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent Various IT qualifications to show competency in teaching area

Desirable



PGCE/Cert Ed Qualification Vendor qualifications in CompTIA, Linux, Networking, Cybersecurity and Cloud Platforms (such as Azure/AWS.
