If you know how to interpret a technical brief, turn it into something buildable, and win work by building strong relationships -- this is your chance to lead quoting for high-impact, heavy-duty steel products.
This Opportunity in One Minute
This role isn't about spreadsheets or software. It's about real-world products -- built from steel, used in aerospace, manufacturing, and logistics. As our Technical Sales Manager, you'll be the person customers trust to scope complex projects and get them right.
You'll need the hands-on knowledge to understand how things are made, and the commercial instinct to win business and build relationships. You'll quote, advise, follow up, and help shape how we communicate our technical capabilities -- with full ownership and lots of variety.
If you're a confident salesperson with fabrication experience -- and you're hungry to grow something meaningful -- this is the place to do it.
Who We Are
We're Simon & Dean, a third-generation British manufacturing business, proudly trading since 1949.
Founded by two friends -- Tom Simon and Fred Dean -- we've spent over 70 years building a reputation for high-quality workplace and storage equipment. From our Warwickshire factory, we manufacture everything in-house: mild steel and stainless-steel fabrications like pallets, benches, trolleys, lockers, tool chests, baskets, bins, planters and more. You'll find our products in industrial warehouses, commercial fit-outs, aerospace facilities and beyond.
While we have a standard product range, we're best known for our bespoke, heavy-duty storage solutions. That includes:
Cargo pallets and lifting cages
Secure post pallets and stillages
A-frame racks and extended cantilever systems
Industrial workbenches and trolleys for the automotive and aerospace sectors
Galvanised living wall troughs and planters
We pride ourselves on being responsive, economical, and able to quote on everything from a sketch to a full technical drawing. Everything we build is structurally sound, tested, and backed by an independent certification centre.
We're a hands-on, practical team with deep knowledge of fabrication -- and we're modernising how we do things, from quoting to communication. If you want to work somewhere where your decisions make a real impact on what gets built, we'd love to have you involved.
Who You Are
You've worked in fabrication, engineering or manufacturing -- with significant hands-on experience making things out of steel or similar materials. That practical knowledge means you can look at a drawing or a sketch and quickly understand what the customer wants -- and what it will take to build it properly.
You're commercially sharp and confident speaking to customers. You're not just quoting prices -- you're building relationships, asking the right questions, and following up to win work. You enjoy taking ownership, staying close to the detail, and making sure everything you quote is accurate, buildable and profitable.
You're probably the type of person who gets a kick out of seeing something you scoped become a real product on the shop floor. You're proactive, organised, and want to work somewhere where your impact is visible every day.
