We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Support Engineer to join our world renowned client within their state of the art modern manufacturing facility on the Sheffield Rotherham boarder. Working as a Sales Support Engineer reporting into the Commercial Director, responsibilities will include:

• Attending weekly enquiries meetings with General Manager, Operations Manager and Commercial Director to discuss incoming sales enquiries.
• Producing commercially sound quotations for customers by fact-finding, using internal databases and by liaising with colleagues in various departments and sub-contractors.
• Following up quotes to win purchase orders from customers and ensure that the specification is correct, making amendments where necessary (no sales involved).
• Analysing costs and highlighting discrepancies, producing reports as and when required.
• Analysing information to improve sales e.g. lead times from enquiry to proposal.
• Utilise high levels of interpersonal skills to develop long term relationships with customers ensuring that their requirements and business needs are interpreted and managed effectively.
• Compiling in depth bid writing and proposal documentation.
• Developing a sound understanding of products to enable more in depth customer communications.

The successful Sales Support Engineer will have:

• Excellent IT skills
• Ability to take on technical information
• Experience in a quoting and pricing capacity
• Able to accurately produce quotes
• Experience of working with an internal database
• Ability to learn and develop technical product knowledge
• Strong literacy skills
• Ability to work independently

This role would suit a candidate who has worked as a Sales Support Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Commercial Executive within an engineering, forging, machining, fabrication, castings or manufacturing environment. Due to the nature of their niche business our client does not conduct any outbound cold calling, their business is based on repeat custom and incoming enquiries.

• Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm Friday 8am - 3.30pm
