As the Technical Program Manager at Woodmac, you\'ll play a critical role within the Technology group. Working closely with a team of Program Managers, you are responsible for technical oversight and helping to drive projects forward. Your responsibilities include independent technical research, refining business cases, coordinating stakeholder relationships, and managing external software contractors. In this position, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of challenges and exciting opportunities. Expect to contribute directly to the project anywhere from 5 - 20% of your time. No two days are ever the same.

Qualifications

  • Owning multiple initiatives across organizational horizontals & verticals
  • Engaging with executives and architects alike as their trusted advisor
  • Experience with software architecture and the full SDLC - from ideation to execution
  • Never expected to be a subject matter expert but is expected to be able to both understand and challenge the opinions of SMEs
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent technical experience
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Experience with full-stack technologies such as React, Node, Java or C#, and Postgres
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of design patterns and testing best practices
  • Polished and effective communicator with the ability to evangelize best practices at various levels within a growing organization
  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritize and push back as needed to meet deadlines with limited formal power
  • Strong executive presentation skills to drive organizational alignment and buy-in
  • Leading project management in an agile environment
  • Managing and owning external vendor relationships (including software contractors)
  • Previous experience mentoring and coaching technical teams
  • Willing to discuss obstacles, find creative solutions, and take initiative
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt based on business and technical needs
  • Ability to thrive in environments with a lack of formal structure and a high degree of ambiguity
  • Eagerness to receive and give both constructive and positive feedback
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a STEM field required
