Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) Ltd operates internationally, designing and manufacturing advanced electronics products and systems for the communications, defence, security and government services market.

We are recruiting for a Technical Product Manager to join our team.
The Technical Product Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the product direction of our mission systems and products.
Reporting directly to the Head of Products, this role requires a blend of strategic market assessment, business planning and leadership of product development teams.
Working closely with the Head of Products, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for identifying market opportunities, translating customer needs into actionable product strategies, and guiding the development and delivery of REUK product solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, proven project management experience and the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to understand customer requirements and market feedback, translating these insights into product enhancements and new offerings.
Conduct thorough market assessments to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes within the defence sector relevant to mission systems and products.
Work with the product design authorities to develop and maintain comprehensive product backlogs that define and document the product developments in the short, medium and long term.
Work with the product design authorities to develop comprehensive business plans for new product lines, including market analysis, target customer identification, value propositions, and financial projections.
Work with the product design authorities to maintain comprehensive business plans for existing product lines, including updating market analysis, reviewing target customers and opportunities and identifying product evolution requirements to maintain or grow market position.
Define and communicate the strategic product direction, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and customer requirements.
Lead and direct cross-functional product teams, including engineers and other technical specialists, throughout the entire product lifecycle (i.e.. from concept to through in-service support strategies).
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of product development projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet stringent quality and performance standards.
Work with engineering teams to define technical specifications, architectures, and development roadmaps for mission systems and products.
Manage the risks within product development projects risks and issues proactively, developing mitigation strategies and escalating appropriately to the Head of Products and other stakeholders.
Track the progress of product development projects, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status updates to the Head of Products and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure the current and proposed products comply with relevant defence industry standards, regulations, and security requirements.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product development teams.
Contribute to the development and implementation of product lifecycle management processes.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
A strong understanding of engineering principles and technologies relevant to mission systems and products (e.g. optronic systems, software engineering).
Ability to analyse market trends, identify opportunities, and develop long-term product strategies.
Proven ability to develop and execute business plans, including financial forecasting and market analysis.
Excellent ability to lead, motivate, and direct technical teams effectively.
Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, risk management, budget control, and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management and customers.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and partners.
Strong ability to identify, analyse, and resolve technical and project-related issues.
Familiarity with the defence sector, relevant regulations, and customer requirements is highly desirable.
