This role will include worldwide travel up to 50-60% of the year. This often works well for Graduates and those with Physics backgrounds are usually successful because they grasp the scientific techniques.

Pay & Contract From \xc2\xa335000 to \xc2\xa337000 plus a 5500 travel allowance after qualifying period, match of between 4 to 8% pension contribution, 25 days holidays.

An opportunity exists to join our Customer Support Team at our Manchester HQ as a Field Service Engineer with frequent travel (~50%) to continental Europe, occasionally further afield. The role would suit a customer facing candidate, comfortable with the operation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and a passion for travel.

Responsibilities

Execution of Customer Support Contracts Worldwide

Installation and commissioning of High-Tech Instrument accessories Worldwide

Providing appropriate onsite customer training

Supporting customers via remote interventions and email while office based

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with close interactions with R&D

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Physics/engineering, a knowledge of instruimentation is essential.

Experience

• Knowledge of techniques such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and the ability to demonstrate a background in scientific instrumentation

would be a distinct advantage
