Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry and a working knowledge of health and safety protocols, with a preference for those who are IOSH trained. This individual will possess excellent clerical and administrative skills, liaising with both production and management teams to ensure that all essential on-site activities are carried out to the highest standard. Key responsibilities will include conducting compliance inspections, audits, risk assessments, staff training, and COSHH management. Additionally, the Technical Administrator will review and update health and safety assessments, ensure all documentation and compliance certificates are up to date, and help maintain safe systems of work. The role will also involve reviewing and purchasing PPE and ancillary production equipment, as well as procuring and coordinating maintenance support.

Key Responsibilities:



Liaise with production and management teams to ensure all safety and compliance activities are executed to the highest standard. Conduct regular compliance inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure adherence to health and safety standards. Organise and manage COSHH assessments and ensure proper documentation for hazardous materials. Review and update health and safety assessments and associated documentation. Ensure all required compliance certificates are up to date and properly filed. Maintain safe systems of work, ensuring that health and safety practices are followed at all times. Create, manage, and update MSDS files for all relevant chemicals and customers. Review and maintain inventories of PPE, ensuring stock levels are adequate and orders are placed in a timely manner. Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of ancillary production equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Procure and coordinate necessary maintenance support services to minimise downtime and ensure continuous compliance with health and safety standards. Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Requirements:



A background in Chemistry (or a related field). Working knowledge of health and safety protocols, with IOSH certification preferred. Strong clerical and administrative skills, with a high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both production staff and management. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. Experience with compliance documentation, including COSHH, and health and safety certifications, is highly desirable.

Desirable Qualifications:



Previous experience in a technical or administrative role within a laboratory, chemical, or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with health and safety regulations and experience managing safety systems is preferred.

Pay: 24,000.00-32,000.00 per year
