Team Support Officer
We have a permanent vacancy for a Team Support Officer within the Cornwall Home Solutions Team.
The Cornwall Home Solutions Team awards disabled facilities grants to eligible disabled residents as well as supporting customers to manage the process of getting their adaptation installed into their home.
The vacancy of Team Support Officer is be based within our triage team, this team is responsible for assessing eligibility for a disabled facilities grant as and well as providing general advice and support to our customers. This team also provides some general administration functions to the wider Cornwall Home Solutions Team, particularly around financial and data processing.
The successful applicant will deliver or assist with a range of tasks including assessing client\xe2\x80\x99s eligibility for grants, records management, financial transactions and input of information to the Case Management System. The successful applicant will undertake personal workload management whilst also participating in a rota for answering telephone calls from the general public.
This position will be subject to a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The role will be based from one of the Councils Offices (this can be negotiated).
After initial training this role could be worked in a hybrid way with working both from home and the office. Home working equipment will be provided. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the aptitude for home working and are able to work effectively and maintain confidentiality in their home setting. They are required to be resilient and capable to adapting to working in a fast paced and changeable environment, all of which are crucial for this role.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.

The role is 37 hours per week to be worked 9am \xe2\x80\x93 5pm Monday - Friday.
About You (Skills, knowledge, qualifications etc)
Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths.
You will have good communication skills and be confident in talking with clients including asking important questions. You must be competent in the use of computers, good with numbers and be able to understand financial information. You will need have strong organisation skills and be able to work independently managing your own caseload.
The successful applicant will enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, display flexibility and produce good quality, accurate outputs, while often working to deadlines.
