The Team Leader role will be based in one of our waste teams within the Combined Packaging Regimes department of Environmental Markets and Regulation. We're a national team with officers based across England, ensuring a consistent regulatory approach across the country.
As a department we ensure that companies are disposing of their waste correctly by enforcing government regulations- 'right waste, right place'.
You will be key to leading, managing and supporting your team, to enable them to fulfil their roles of delivering compliance and enforcement within your area.
As a Team Leader, you will lead a team of Officers to deliver outcomes.
Please note that these roles will be based in East Anglia.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role. This may attract an additional payment.
Everyone starting in a new role with the Environment Agency will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support you need to succeed.

The team
Environmental Markets and Regulation is a supportive and inclusive department that encourages our
teams' health, safety, wellbeing, and development. We aim to improve the quality of recycling and
ensure waste entering and leaving the country is handled appropriately for recycling and recovery. We
help to protect and improve the environment by regulating industry, ensuring compliance, and
eliminating illegal activities.
Key areas we regulate: Packaging Waste, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Batteries and
International Waste Shipments.
Experience/skills required

Interviews are expected between June 2nd and June 13th face to face, subject to change. Further details will be communicated nearer the time.
You will need to be comfortable with working in a dispersed team. The Environment Agency utilise a
hybrid working approach, including office and home working. Regular travel within your base area and
travelling for training and meetings in is expected.
