Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:




Technical Leadership & Team Management




Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of platform engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices. Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members to facilitate growth and development. Resource Allocation: Allocate tasks and resources effectively to ensure timely project delivery and optimal team utilisation. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Platform Architects to refine and implement architectural designs, translate those designs into actionable plans, and seek their expertise on technical challenges.

Platform Design & Implementation:




Architect and Implement: Design and implement complex infrastructure solutions using Terraform, ensuring alignment with the overall architectural vision Production Support: Lead complex production support projects, troubleshoot critical issues, implement solutions to minimise downtime, and guide the team in resolving root causes of incidents Internal Development Platform (IDP): Lead the team in designing and developing major IDP features and components, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and scalability DevOps Excellence: Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of DevOps practices across the team, aligning with architectural principles.

CI/CD Pipeline Optimization:




Design and Maintain: Design, implement, and maintain robust and efficient CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment of infrastructure and applications Automated Testing: Develop and refine automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of platform components. Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and address potential issues in the CI/CD pipelines and the overall platform

Attributes and Experience Required:




Extensive experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading technical teams Demonstrated experience in mentoring and guiding engineers to achieve technical excellence Deep expertise in Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy) Advanced knowledge of networking, security, and system administration principles Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks Passion for technical excellence, automation, and continuous improvement
