Your new SchoolHays are recruiting a Full-Time Teaching Assistant in Rhondda Cynon Taf for a Secondary School which caters for pupils aged 11-16. The role itself shall consist of supporting a year 8 student with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis. You will be joining a class which contains a Teacher and a fellow Teaching Assistant who are eager to welcome a new member to the team. The school has a fantastic teaching staff who pride themselves on the support they can offer their students, as well as the warm and creative environment they maintain within the school for pupils and staff alike. The school are well-regarded for their hardworking staff and fantastic leadership team.Your new roleThe role is confirmed long-term for a September Start, working 5 days a week. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to:

• Working 1:1 with a year 8 student with additional learning needs.
• Demonstrating high levels of patience, empathy, and care when dealing with potentially challenging behaviour.
• Supporting in the implementation and delivery of a lesson plan, ensuring that students are engaged in their work.
• Working closely as part of a positive and welcoming teaching team.
• Creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and enjoyable learning environment.

What you\'ll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience working or volunteering within a School or with children over the course of the last 2 3 years. Some of the key attributes and skills needed for this role include empathy, calmness, respect, and patience. Further desired traits include responsiveness, problem-solving skills, commitment, and a high degree of motivation.
