Immediate Opening: Teaching Assistant (or LSW) for a September StartAre you experienced in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs?Would you excel at assisting teachers and students during their lessons?Can you begin a contract role in Surrey in September 2024?We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Education Support Workers to join this team at a renowned College starting this September term.About The School:This Residential Special School, located in Lingfield, Surrey, is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that includes Therapy and Health services, as well as an innovative Research facility on site.This Residential College offers tailored education for students aged 19-25, particularly those with Epilepsy, Autism, and severe learning difficulties. Nestled in beautiful grounds, the College is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities designed to foster student confidence and independence.The compassionate and proficient staff are dedicated to making learning enjoyable and ensuring each student thrives and reaches their full potential.With a 'Good' rating from Ofsted in 2017 and aiming for 'Outstanding,' the College is also recognised with QiCS FairTrain Gold for their exemplary career program and as a Centre of Excellence [IQM] for inclusion in 2020. They are also proud members of Challenge Partners.About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant you will aid students with Epilepsy, Autism, and other severe learning difficulties, including sensory, physical, and medical needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting students in accessing learning through tailored, personalised methods, both in individual and group settings.
  • Contributing to student records and reports alongside Teachers and specialist staff.
  • Participating in classroom, curriculum, staff, and other relevant meetings.
  • Providing essential administrative support to ensure the College runs smoothly.
  • Upholding high standards of hygiene and welfare for students in the classroom.
  • Collaborating with senior staff or designated safeguarding leads as needed.
About You:You are a compassionate individual eager to make a positive impact and work within a holistic team dedicated to prioritising young people.We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about working with and supporting young people.
  • An effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and challenging situations.
  • Experienced in teamwork and capable of working independently.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills.
