Our Drama department plays a vital role in enriching students' learning experiences and developing their communication and performance skills.About the Role:

  • Teach Drama across Key Stages 3/4/5, introducing learners to the magic of theatre and performance.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and imaginative lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of drama techniques and activities, including role-play, improvisation, and movement, to develop students' creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring their imaginations and expressing themselves.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Drama curriculum remains relevant and inspiring.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Drama education.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Drama
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Drama and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Drama and relevant early years frameworks.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
