Job Title: Teacher of Art
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: xc2xa330,000 - xc2xa346,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: September 2025

Experienced Teaching Assistants with a strong art background and aspirations for teaching are also encouraged to apply.About the Role:The appointed Art Teacher will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 depending on experience). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-resourced department where creativity, innovation, and student success are at the forefront.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage studentsxe2x80x99 exploration of a wide range of artistic styles, media, and cultural influences.
  • Assess and track student progress, offering clear feedback and differentiated support.
  • Foster a classroom environment that celebrates creativity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
  • Participate in extracurricular opportunities such as Art clubs, exhibitions, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Must have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas qualification (ECTs are welcome).
  • Enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with relevant experience and aspirations to train may also be considered.
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject.
  • Proven classroom experience or the confidence and potential to excel as a new teacher.
  • A passion for nurturing creativity and artistic expression.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Experience in working with a variety of artistic media and digital tools is desirable.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
