Art & Design Teacher \xe2\x80\x93 Darlington

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a school in Darlington that are currently looking for a full-time Art & Design teacher to join their Art Department.

ECT and Fully Qualified teachers are welcome to apply!

The school are looking for a candidate who is highly knowledgeable in their subject and can engage pupils in their studies.

  • Full-time Art Teacher
  • Post starting September 2023
  • Long term contract, with the potential to go permenant
  • Pay in line with teacher pay scale
  • Planning, marking and delivering a full Art & Design timetable across KS3 \xe2\x80\x93 KS4 in line with the current curriculum
  • Located in the Darlington area

Details of the role
  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Art.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Art lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to Senior Teachers to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
  • Guide pupils who require additional support within a classroom and implement strategies to help manage their learning.
  • To share and support the school\xe2\x80\x99s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
The successful candidate will
  • Hold a UK recognised QTS (or equivalent)
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 level for Art and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students\' work
  • Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
  • Have a good level of ICT skills
  • Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
  • Be able to communicate positively, both written and verbally
