About the Role

Fixed Term Contract, 2 years

x2 roles available, one will be based at Mabgate Campus and one at Somerville House

The School of Events, Enterprise and Employability offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19+ learners who are looking to pursue a career in Events, Marketing, Customer Service and Business sustainability. Our course offers range from Level 1, for learners who may be applying to college with limited previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Extended programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry.

Learn to become an outstanding teacher over a two-year apprenticeship in the Events, Enterprise and Employability department. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn whilst you learn and work towards becoming a qualified teacher, you will receive support, guidance and all the necessary tools to complete your apprenticeship whilst gaining valuable experience on the job. Our courses focus on core practical skills and include Personal and Social Development, Enterprise and Employability, Marketing and Business Enterprise. This role will be supporting these learners to achieve their English to a higher level.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course and track and monitor progress against these.
  • Be responsible for recording student progress and supporting students to achieve targets.
  • Delivery of a minimum of 100 teaching hours over the two-year period.
About You
  • Relevant highest level vocational qualification in teaching subject (at least at L3).
  • English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 prior to commencing training or prior to completion of the apprenticeship.
  • Relevant up-to-date subject knowledge in specific subject area and up to date knowledge of workplace practice.
  • Exceptional verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
  • Ability to follow direction and constructive feedback, to help support development as a teaching practitioner, applying theory to practical application in an education setting.
