HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

The role involves spending time in the toilet repair facility, where you will be responsible for overhauling toilet modules. This includes stripping down, cleaning, replacing components, testing, and commissioning before refitting them to FLIRT units. Additionally, with the compressor overhaul on the fleet nearing completion, there remains a need to maintain and replace defective compressors as a corrective action. The goal is to ensure a serviceable stock of compressors is available to technicians to help maintain fleet performance. This will be achieved through component replacement, diagnosis, root cause analysis, and appropriate corrective actions.

As part of your duties, you will carry out set scopes of work in accordance with approved written work instructions, OEM manuals, and supporting documentation. You will complete overhaul VMI (maintenance) tasks for toilet component replacements and corrective actions on toilet failures, undertake fault finding and associated repairs, and maintain suitable stock levels of compressor units through corrective actions, modifications, and component replacements. You will provide assistance and technical feedback to the management team, observe all health and safety practices, including maintaining a tidy workplace and properly disposing of substances with high environmental impact, and support your line manager in project-related tasks surrounding upcoming overhaul activities.

Organisationally, you will supplement Infor EAM (SRMS) and other relevant reporting systems, documenting work orders as required, including entering hours worked, booking materials used, and taking support documentation for potential Drugs and Vandalism claims. This includes working with tablets, smartphones, and mobile applications. You will support fleet performance and CSR (customer service reduction by improving in-service toilet efficiency and reducing the failure rate. You will perform work in accordance with work instructions and safety procedures, contributing to the creation and updating of these instructions. Detailed reports and system write-ups will be provided to line management, demonstrating behaviour-based values. You will undertake and support any activity that your capabilities permit, aiming to achieve targets on a continual basis. Where targets are not met, you will fully analyse the situation and implement actions to prevent generic reoccurrence. The above description serves as a characterisation of the activities and is not exhaustive. You are expected to perform all other relevant work as requested, within reason.
