Systems Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Modelling and Simulation
Bristol (2 days a week on site)
6 month contract
Up to \xc2\xa380ph inside IR35 / Umbrella

Due to the nature of the role candidates must have valid and transferrable SC security clearance.

The ideal candidate will be a Systems Engineer with a Comms background and with Cisco (CCNA/CCPA) who have produced architecture diagrams and can potentially do the modelling too.

Candidates will have 1 or more of the Satellite Toolkit/ System Tool Kit (STK), QualNet, Exata, Cisco Modelling Labs (CML), Graphical Network Simulator (GSN), Sparx Enterprise Architect.

Role description / task:

• Modelling and simulation design, implementation, test, reviews, and preparation of supporting documentation
• Supporting the development and maintenance of architecture models and digital twins
• Application of modelling and simulation to system and service operations and assurance.

• Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Experience leading the design, implementation, and delivery of simulation environments
• Experience developing one or more of: network communication models, satellite dynamic models, or radiofrequency (RF) models using industry tools e.g. System Tool Kit (STK), QualNet, Exata, Cisco Modelling Labs (CML), Graphical Network Simulator (GSN), Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Experience in the defence or telecommunication industry, ideally MILSATCOM but not essential.
• Ability to implement model configuration management and change control practices
• Ability to conduct model validation and model verification
• Ability to apply iterative/incremental project delivery approaches e.g. Agile, Scrum
• Understanding of systems engineering approaches and principles
