An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen at Torness Power Station to join our highly skilled and motivated Engineering Department. There are a number of vacancies, and we are seeking applications from those with Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Plant Computing and Design Engineering backgrounds.

The Opportunity

The System Engineer role (C&I, Plant Computing, mechanical and electrical) will be responsible for the System Health of the plant, developing short to long term improvement plans, outage scope and defining the maintenance policy on their assigned systems. You will also actively participate in the work planning process providing engineering technical input as required ensuring prioritisation of work is based on the importance of equipment and its potential impact on plant performance.

We\'re offering a salary of \xc2\xa340,069 - \xc2\xa384,892 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification. What you\'ll be doing

The Design Engineering role offers varied and challenging work in the areas of plant modification, plant engineering and project management. You will contribute to ensuring safe reliable operations through plant improvements, safety case management and support to emergent operational challenges.

In this role, you\'ll carry out the following roles and responsibilities:

Systems Engineer

  • Be a responsible engineer for Electrical, Control and Instrumentation, Mechanical plant areas and act as the technical conscience for the assigned systems.
  • Ensuring important equipment is identified and that correct preventative maintenance programmes are in place to prevent unanticipated equipment failures.
  • Managing activities that are to be carried out and completed with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and location directives, procedures and safety rules.
  • Performing Condition monitoring, performance trending, plant walk downs and System Health Reviews as required.
Design Engineer
  • Providing an interface between station, projects delivery department and central support functions on design change issues.
  • Providing Engineering Change resources in support of station Outages, Work Week plans and projects
  • Act as Responsible Engineer and Project Manager in support of station schemes.
Who you are

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will have a nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken, you will also can maintain knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Liaising with peers in other engineering groups within the fleet you will be required to share best practises and to continually improve local and fleet performance, so communication skills are key.

As a minimum, entrants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent) Candidates with a relevant Degree may have an advantage.
Background in nuclear power plant operations, engineering or technical and safety disciplines would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will have a Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Design, or Chemical Engineering background.

Training will be provided based on existing experience.
