Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer you will be doing:

• Utilising a wide range of knowledge, skills, and experience in Systems Engineering principles, techniques, and governance to conceptualize, design, and resolve engineering challenges across various products and engineering scenarios.

• Analysing and breaking down requirements into system and sub-system levels, and managing these using approved tools like IBM DOORS Next.

• Applying a comprehensive understanding of holistic system solutions to perform system design decomposition while appreciating the interplay of lower-level sub-systems, spanning diverse technology fields including electronics, electrical, mechanical, and software.

• Collaborating closely with specialists from various engineering domains, including electronics, electrical, mechanical, and software.

• Engaging in architectural modelling at both the system and sub-system levels, encompassing interface definitions, and maintaining architectural models using contemporary tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, with opportunities to leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.

• Defining and clearly communicating system acceptance strategies and acceptance criteria to internal and external stakeholders.

• Through these responsibilities, you will establish a strong professional presence among senior stakeholders and cultivate a diverse knowledge base in the field of engineering.

As a Systems Engineer you will have experience in:

• Understands engineering principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and is capable of systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to complex problems.

• Demonstrates understanding and experience of Systems Engineering which could include knowledge of Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288).

• Experience of using a high-level design methodology (e.g. UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, UML).

• Experience of requirements elicitation and requirements management (e.g., IBM DOORS Next).

• Experience of designing/working with large-scale complex system designs.

• Experience of presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting.

• Further education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline.
