Job Description

Sporty Scholars is looking for enthusiastic Swimming Instructors that have a passion working with children and teaching swimming. The right individual will want to inspire children to be active and have fun while being in a safe environment providing high quality swim lessons to children in our "pools to schools" programme.

Our Pools to Schools programme is a mobile 10 meter pool and heated which rotates to different schools in Bedford/Milton Keynes and surrounding Areas. You will be situated at the school for 2 weeks up to 7 weeks and the pools run 30-32 weeks a year.

We have optional hours in School Holidays at our Activity Camps as a Camp Manager or Activity Leader.

Main job responsibilities

Plan and deliver the sessions Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly Carry out different admin tasks - registers and feedback reports Create fun and safe environment for all the children Building a positive relationship with parents and schools Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments Teaching in the pool and in our heated pop up pools 10m x 4 m onsite at schools

Essential requirements

Should be over the age of 18 and have the right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS Check Safeguarding & Protecting Certificate (valid) Valid Full UK Driving Licence Experience and enthusiasm in working with young children aged 5-12 Swimming teacher qualification - SwimEngland (ASA) Level 2 or STA full swimming instruction Qualifications or any other equivalent qualification

Desirable qualifications:

Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers Pool Plant Operator

Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30 PM (7 hours a day)

The role is subjected to an enhanced DBS check.
