Job Title: Sustainability Analyst (Agri-food Systems) Teams: Standards Salary: \xc2\xa334-37k per annum Full Time CBI Mission Climate Bonds Initiative is an investor-focused NGO working to mobilise the $100 trillion global bond market for climate change solutions. We promote investment in projects and assets necessary for a rapid transition to a low carbon and climate resilient economy. Our main work streams are green bond standards and certification, data and market analysis, policy and market development, communications and advocacy. Purpose The Climate Bonds Initiative\xe2\x80\x99s Agri-Food team works to accelerate the transition of agriculture and food (agri-food) toward net-zero, resilient, and sustainable systems, via mobilising finance needed for that transition. This Analyst will be responsible for developing the criteria that set the requirements for how agri-food systems must transition to achieve the Paris aligned goals. Duties and responsibilities

• Developing thought leadership for each component of the Agri-Food system to be tackled. This includes undertaking high level research online and key stakeholder interviews to:

• Identify organisations and work already done in this area that could be leveraged.
• Identify the key climate and other green and social challenges and solutions facing that sector.
• Identify pathways to net zero for the components of the Agri-Food system.
• Write research briefings, scientific background papers and dissemination material to support the criteria development process and its later outreach.
• Present technical research to a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

• Support the technical development of CBI\xe2\x80\x99s criteria for Agri-Food Systems, which includes:

• Conducting data analysis at both company and instrument level including of entity transition plans.
• Liaising with other organizations working for the same goals.
• Providing internal technical briefings for policy and market engagement as required

• In conjunction with the Agri-Food Lead, manage the criteria development process to ensure that the development of criteria reflect scientific consensus on definitions, and market needs, and are driven and supported by the Technical Working Group.
• Supporting the roll out of a market education program that builds understanding and use of the criteria. This includes internal and external webinars and discussion pieces.
• Within CBI, provide expertise and support on all queries relating to agri-food systems.
• Producing and managing the development of high quality-visuality appealing analytical reports, briefings, and other publications on Agri-Food Systems Transition.
• Liaising within and outside Climate bonds on transition data enquiries and representing Climate Bonds with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the Agri-Food Lead in managing the team\xe2\x80\x99s tasks and working collaboratively within the Agri-Food Systems Transition Programme and the Standards team.

• Degree in relevant subject or equivalent, including aspects of climate science, agriculture, or environmental science.

• Considerable experience in research and data analysis, including research and communications (writing and presenting).
• Basic experience in the Agri-Food sector.
• Basic experience in Climate Transitions.

• An interest in the role finance plays in up-scaling climate solutions.
• Ability to manage, coordinate and prioritise projects and tasks.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, outgoing.
• Organised.
• Excellent English writing and oral skills
• Desired to work remotely within a dispersed international team.

• Master or PhD degree in a topic related to climate and agri-food systems

• Considerable experience in scientific analysis in Agri-Food Systems and Climate.
• Knowledge of sustainable finance markets.
• Knowledge of market analysis.
