InverCare provides Support and Care Services within the community throughout a number of regions across the West of Scotland 7 days a week including Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Perth and Kinross, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.
We are striving to provide a service of excellence through our care at home services for those with physical disabilities, general frailty, dementia, learning difficulties, palliative and end of life care.
About the role
As a Supported Living Worker (SLW) you will be matched to a Person Profile we work for and will spend your time working alongside client.
client was born in Blairgowrie. client is one of ten children. He left school to work for the Forestry Commission at the age of fifteen. At seventeen, client joined the Black Watch, and by twenty, client had joined the Airborne Paratroopers. client left the Army after an incident while on duty, citing poor mental health at the time. client later worked with diggers and dump trucks for a power line company but had to retire due to a work-related accident that left client physically unable to continue. client has children whom client stays in touch with. client loves reading, especially military books, and has a quick sense of humor. client used to spend most of client time at home, enjoying social interaction with passers by through client large living room window and receiving regular visits from friends.
You will support him with their day-to-day life but the core component of your role will be supporting them to keep sight of their hopes and aspirations and to move closer to them.

You will need to be a good listener with an enthusiasm for life, a 'can do' attitude and willingness to learn. You don't need to have a care qualification or any previous experience of working in social care as you will be provided with all the training you need and will also have the opportunity to work towards your professional qualification.
Shift Pattern:
24 hours including sleepover and wakenight 5 days over 7 days including weekends

What we're looking for:
