An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Housing & Independence Service as a Support Worker, for supported accommodation. We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to support staff with our young people on their road to independence.
We are committed to ensuring that care experienced young people transition successfully to living independently. It is recognised that young people achieve independence at different ages linked to their cognitive ability, early life experiences, resilience and their experiences with regulated care settings. Taking this in to account we developed the Housing & Independence service which delivers the \xe2\x80\x98Key to Your Future Project\xe2\x80\x99 in its entirety.
The young people will also complete the Key to My Future preparation for independence programme. This well-established programme that was developed collaboratively with our young people leaving care, focuses on the practical aspects of managing a tenancy and living independently. All the work they completed on the programme will be processed through to AQAs unit award scheme for accreditation certificates.
The Housing & Independence service utilises the Trusts Psychological services to provide formulations of the young people prior to them starting the programme as well as a dialectical behavioural Therapy based programme, that the young people work through with staff support once ready they will move into the identified outreach accommodation which is the next phase of the project.
