A great and exciting opportunity has just come available for a motivated Residential Support Worker supporting young persons with emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. My client is well established and has achieved a good rating from Ofsted and is looking for a confident Residential Support Worker. You will need to support service users and colleagues in the service and further improve and maintain the high standards that are embedded throughout their values and service delivery.

\xc2\xb7 Salary - \xc2\xa324,864.84 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa327,351.32 (rota)

\xc2\xb7 Hours \xe2\x80\x93 Full time permanent position based on 43 hours per week 24 sleeps per year

\xc2\xb7 Shifts \xe2\x80\x93 hours are normally worked in shift patterns such as 5 days on 5 days off or shorter shifts and weekend working if a bank staff position. For staff with no transport - accommodation is provided.

\xc2\xb7 Holidays - 29 days of annual leave

\xc2\xb7 Area \xe2\x80\x93 Located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Responsibilities \xe2\x80\x93 Residential Support Worker

\xc2\xb7 Support new Team Leaders and care staff in the completion of induction programs, training and competency assessment.

\xc2\xb7 To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm.

\xc2\xb7 Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard.

\xc2\xb7 Helping young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring that each young person\xe2\x80\x99s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.

\xc2\xb7 Attending to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc).

\xc2\xb7 To act as a key worker or co-worker for a young person to ensure that the young person\xe2\x80\x99s care plans are up to date and that all their care needs are being met. To provide a positive role model to be able to offer advice, guidance and assistance where appropriate.

\xc2\xb7 Establishing relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding.

Skills required \xe2\x80\x93 Residential Support Worker

\xc2\xb7 Over the age of 18 years.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of child safeguarding and protection procedures.

\xc2\xb7 QCF Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young persons Residential (desirable but not essential).

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and standards.

\xc2\xb7 An understanding of emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties.

\xc2\xb7 Basic IT skills and basic computer programmes such as word, Excel and Outlook.

\xc2\xb7 A commutable distance from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
