Support Worker - Sleep In

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire

Salary: \xc2\xa312 per hour + \xc2\xa350 per sleep in + Benefits

Hours: 10 hours per week supporting + 5 sleep in per week

Employment type: Part-time, Permanent, Flexible

We are on the lookout for Sleep In Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.

Furthermore, as Support Worker you will be responsible for:

  • Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
  • Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
  • Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
  • Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
  • Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
  • To work in accordance with SeeAbility\'s values
We are looking for someone who can devote 5 nights based on rota shifts from Monday to Sunday.

Who will you be supporting?

People at Southampton home are a very active group who spend a lot of time getting out and about and engaging with the local community. We love doing: art class, trampolining, playing music, gardening in the sensory garden, spending time in the community.

As a support worker your contribution will be invaluable. You\'ll work as a team to provide support for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, autism and behaviour that may be challenging. We specialise in supporting and assisting people with sight loss, helping them to live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
  • Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
  • To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
  • To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
  • Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
  • To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
  • To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone\'s needs
