We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in a supported living home for four lovely ladies with complex needs.
The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated support workers to join our team.
Please note:
While this is classified as a supported living setting, the level of physical care required is more akin to that typically found in residential care. Therefore, we are seeking candidates with experience and confidence in providing a high level of personal care.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Providing person-centred care and support to four ladies with complex needs, respecting their individual choices and promoting their independence.
Assisting with all aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting/pad change.
Supporting with mobility, including the use of mobility vehicles.
Administering medication in accordance with care plans (training provided).
Assisting with meal preparation and support during mealtimes, considering individual dietary needs and preferences.
Supporting individuals to engage in social activities and pursue their interests, both within the home and in the community.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the home and a positive living environment.
Following all policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and medication administration.
Providing emotional support and companionship.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in a care setting, ideally with a background in residential care.
Experience of providing a high level of personal care.
Manual handling experience and training.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as three of the ladies have their own mobility vehicles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A caring and compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others.
Ability to work flexibly, including split shifts, long days, and every other weekend.
Ability to work as part of a team.
A commitment to promoting the rights, independence, and choices of people with learning disabilities, in line with the principles of the Care Act 2014.
Willingness to undertake further training and development, including mandatory training and specific training related to the needs of the individuals we support.
Desirable:
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
Experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
