Join our Homelessness and Prevention team as a Support worker (Floating support)

The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Floating Support Worker in Bedford.

Bedford Floating support is a service that supports clients who hold their own tenancy. We support clients in their own home and out in the community with any issues that impact upon their tenancy. This includes Benefits, suitable housing, and other complex needs. You will be required to meet with customers at their home, in the community and in our office as well as partnership working with other organisations and professionals.

Salary: \xc2\xa323,303 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm)

Location: Clarence House, Bedford (MK42 0AH)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Floating support in the community
  • Caseload of up to 25 customers
  • Key work sessions whilst in the service
  • Outreach support where you will assist customers and promote independent living, including supporting with any housing/ tenancy issues, rent payments etc
  • Working with and supporting a range of customers with various complex needs including mental health, homelessness, substance misuse
  • Support to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education, and work.

The successful candidate will:
  • Possess genuine passion of making a real difference in people\xe2\x80\x99s lives.
  • Have experience and knowledge of safeguarding legislation including ability to recognize safeguarding issues.
  • Have knowledge of the Housing Sector and One Housing Group\xe2\x80\x99s activities.
  • Have experience working within a similar support worker role.
