Job Summary



As a Support Worker working at Non Violentiam who specialise in Domestic Abuse and Mother and Baby your role in summary is essential support to domestic abuse victims as well as mother and baby residents, residing in our supported accommodation. The role involves offering emotional, practical, and advocacy support to individuals, empowering them to rebuild their lives free from abuse. You will work closely with residents to ensure their safety, well-being, and progression toward independence with the goal that they move on to their own accommodation. Your role is also to uphold all the administrative tasks that compliment the support that is given to the Licensee's.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide emotional and practical support to residents - minimum of one hour a week per Licensee plus a welfare check by phone or in person Assist clients in understanding their rights and accessing necessary services, including legal advice, healthcare, and financial assistance. Advocate on behalf of clients with external agencies, including housing authorities, social services, and legal representatives.
Ensure that the house is kept clean and tidy and the Licensee's keep the communal and personal spaces in line with agreement

Warnings & Evictions: Manage and communicate house rules, including issuing warnings and handling evictions when necessary

Service Charge Management: Assist residents in understanding and managing service charges associated with their accommodation.

Room Checks and Inventory Management: Conduct regular room inspections, ensuring that accommodation standards are maintained, and manage inventory for communal areas.

Fire Checks and Compliance: Regularly perform fire checks, room inspections, and ensure that all compliance measures, including smoke alarms and locks, are up to standard.

Daily Tasks for Licensee: Ensure that licensees are fulfilling their daily tasks and responsibilities within the accommodation.

Reporting of Maintenance and Repairs: Promptly report and follow up on maintenance and repair issues to ensure that accommodation remains safe and habitable.

Responsible for distributing cleaning supplies based on organisation policy

Responsible for communicating and signposting policies and announcements of the organisation within the property i.e Notice Boards

Referral and Sign Up Duties:



Referral support: Taking referral calls from outside agencies and completing necessary forms laid out by organisation and reporting to management

Move In: Arrange and complete move in's across all properties

Sign Up: Facilitate the onboarding process for new residents, ensuring all necessary documentation and arrangements are completed set out by the organisation

Move Out: Ensuring a move out time is agreed with Licensee and collecting Keys etc. laid out by management

Administrative Support:



Housing Benefit and Universal Credit Applications: Assist residents in completing and submitting applications for housing benefits and Universal Credit. Applications for Licensee: Help residents with applications and renewals of necessary applications Risk Assessments: Conduct and regularly update risk assessments for each resident to ensure their safety and well-being. Liaising with Local Authorities: Work closely with local authorities, such as the BCC (Birmingham City Council), to ensure residents receive the necessary support and the organisation is in payment from council for Licensee. Support Notes & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including support notes, risk assessments, and other relevant documentation, ensuring all data is handled confidentially. Compliance Checks: Ensure all compliance-related documentation, including fire safety, room checks, and security measures, are up-to-date and in line with organizational policies.

: Perform general administrative tasks set out by management

Referral Support and Relationship Building

:being a representative of the company to external and internal agencies to promote the business objective's

Out of Hours Support

: Dependent on agreement with management there may be occasion where out of hour support is needed. Only for emergent cases.

Training:

the organisation may offer training that is compulsory
Licence/Certification:

Full Driving Licence (required) DBS required: Yes, Enhanced and Barred
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 11.50-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
