The Company

Greens of Soham is part of Top Farms International which farms over 75,000 Ha across the UK and Central and Eastern Europe with a well-established track record of delivering solid business and revenue growth. In the UK we farm in excess of 2,000 Ha, primarily in East Anglia but with operations also in Northumberland and the Scottish borders. Our primary focus is potatoes and beetroot and we are the largest grower of these crops in the UK.

The role

The role is within Spearhead Marketing Ltd, our third-party processing supply business.

The role is based at our Soham head office but with the autonomy and responsibility to make this role your own. The role includes oversight of potato deliveries that occur 7 days a week, every week of the year.

A key aspect of this role will be to ensure the successful delivery of our contracted supply of washed potatoes into our customer base, supported by the Washing team, the Grower Relations team and the Senior Management group.

Key Accountabilities

Coordinate between our growers and our customers to ensure the successful delivery of all our potato movement. Day to day account management of all main customers. Ensure successful completion of all purchase and sales contracts across the season. Organise transport logistics for all potato movement. Collate and manage stock information, against contract volumes throughout the season. Ensure quality delivered from farm and our washing team is aligned with customer expectations. Ensure sales program supports harvesting programmes across our contracted supply. Ensure sales program supports efficiency for our on-farm washing operation. Sign off on weekly scheduling data, ensuring accounts can be managed. Drive continuous improvement both within systems and on farm, bringing the customer perspective into Spearhead Marketing. Take an active role in any secondary sales opportunities that arise.

Profile characteristics

The role requires someone with crop sales or coordination experience, preferably potatoes. Experience of managing a supply chain business would be ideal. Good IT skills is required although training will be given for specific systems. Excel skills are essential.
