Location: Central London, five days a week in office for six months, then hybrid three days in office. Extensive business travel.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 5 pm

Who You\'ll Be Working for:

Global raw materials trader.

What You\'ll be Doing Each Day:

Food, Chemical & Paper forms an established core business sector within the Trading Division.

This position focusses equally upon assisting negotiations, providing after sales support, as well as searching out potential new suppliers, and completing necessary diligence and compliance protocols.

A proactive approach to market opportunities for sales to new and existing customers, primarily within the Middle East region, is vital. The emphasis is upon close teamwork. The jobholder must work closely with the accounts, documentary, and logistics teams to ensure proper contract performance. You will be responsible for data capture from initial enquiry to contract fulfilment within the departments contract reporting system.
  • Foster strong relationships, to add to the section\xe2\x80\x99s knowledge of new and existing customers, to enhance the company\'s positive reputation in the market and to maintain high standards of supply and service to customers.
  • Generate Third Party (external) activity from within Food, Chemicals and Paper\xe2\x80\x99s product portfolio, and to maximise opportunities for winning new business in general.
  • Input all contracts into SAP Business One (central computer system) to generate the Purchase Order, the Sales Order, the Costing Sheet and Contract Sheet.
  • Expedite contracts through shipment and final outturn with the support of the Documentary Department, seeking to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Report and advise the senior colleagues of any business opportunities.
  • Co-operate closely with everyone in the Trading Division.
  • Work closely with all relevant departments, (freight, documentary, logistics and finance) to ensure smooth expediting and that all persons in their respective departments know what is required of them and that the concerned parties work as a team.
  • Acquire knowledge and expertise in the portfolio of traded products enabling the business to offer informed and timely market intelligence.
  • Commit accurate and relevant intelligence to the Division\xe2\x80\x99s trading library and indexes.
  • To participate in the Division\xe2\x80\x99s continuous education and upgrading of information technology.
The Skills You\'ll Need to Succeed:
  • Be energetic, active physically, able to move around expanding and developing the business.
  • Knowledge of Middle East culture and language.
  • Knowledge of an Arabic language - is a must.
  • Previous experience in Food, Chemicals & Paper - would be a bonus.
  • Availability to undertake extensive travel to visit suppliers and customers.
