The Avenue Cinema, a new fully licensed luxury cinema experience in the heart of Belfast, is seeking to recruit for the role of Supervisor

We are looking for a candidate with a good mixture of front and back of house experience within their current or previous roles. The candidate must demonstrate relevant experience to head up the bar operations of the venue. The applicant will focus on stock management, orders, deliveries, wastage, stock rotation and loss prevention. Our Chargehand will be an integral role in our management team and will help create a fun, professional and safe place to work.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead day-to-day smooth running of the bar and customer service and to diligently complete all tasks as assigned by senior managers. Adhere to all elements of licensing laws and health and safety within the workplace. To provide guidance and assistance to any service staff where necessary, and to help other members of the bar team to improve and perfect their customer service skills. To liaise with management on the operations of the bar equipment, to help maintain quality control, consistency, and product development. Ensure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to, in line with company policy, taking account of security and the health & safety of people and property. Manage the upkeep and cleanliness of all elements relating to the bar. Rota-planning/adjustments. Taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours, in line with sale. Stock control to include ordering, adhering to weights and measures, stock counting. Manage all delivery processes, including checking in orders, storage, stock rotation, wastage, security, loss investigation, stock takes & quality control of inventory. To follow good practice for the correct use of all POS till and ordering systems, ensuring prompt payment, and closing off of orders and tables etc. To follow correct guidelines on uniform wear alongside high standards of personal grooming and hygiene. Conduct/assist HR duties when required, including investigations and disciplinaries. Any other tasks and/or duties as directed by senior management including holiday cover of other management positions within the bar.

Essential Criteria:



3+ years' experience working in a busy bar environment. 2 years in a similar role. Experience in stock management. Excellent knowledge of wine, beers, and spirits. Ability to source products from various wholesalers Carryout cost audit and competitor pricing. Experienced in dealing with front of house systems for a contemporary POS system. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think proactively to get ahead of potential problems or issues. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a focus on customer service and standards. Fully flexible to work days, evenings, and weekend shifts.
