This Summer Marketing Assistant role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the marketing of Regents Theological College at the busiest and most important time of the year to support a strong September recruitment of students. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be working on and editing Social Media posts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok), updating the Regents website, creating short videos and engaging social media content, and generally supporting the Marketing Manager in other administrative tasks. You may be required to attend a number of Christian Festivals over the summer.
Applicants will need to have knowledge of a variety of software applications to support this role, including iMovie, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc) and WordPress, with an ability to create social media posts and mock ups. They will also need experience in updating websites in a creative way and an understanding of how users interact to make the information relevant and attractive to 'customers'. It would also be beneficial to understand and a have experience of making short promotional films and/or motion graphics.
Knowledge of Regents Theological College, the Elim Churches, and student recruitment would also be an advantage to understand the promotional opportunities the College has. Although this is a short-term role, there is a genuine occupational requirement that the selected person be a committed Christian who subscribes to Elim's foundational truths. This is because the role involves interacting with potential students and selling not only academic courses but the Christian values and experience that the College offers.
The Person
You will be enthusiastic about making a difference to the College through the creation and delivery of effective communications which support the College's promotional activities and will be results driven with an ability to hit deadlines.
You will already be aware of different marketing media and how to use them and will be willing to take on a number of projects across the summer.
You will be flexible and willing to adapt what you are doing to changing circumstances, potentially operating several projects at the same time some with short deadlines.
Evidence of a portfolio of related work would be an advantage.
Essential and desirable skills for the role are detailed below:
Essential Desirable
Skills in graphics, design, filming, editing, websites and media Degree in graphics, design, film, media or social media or studying towards same
Knowledge of how to use software applications including i-movie, Adobe & Wordpress
Knowledge of social media applications including Instagram, twitter, Facebook, You tube & tic-tok Knowledge or Regents courses and options available to potential students
Availability to attend college open days and certain festivals as required
Creative personality with ability to take a concept brief and draw up presentations and media to support delivery Evidence of a portfolio of related work around for example graphics, communications, branding and promotion
Engaging personality - willingness to talk to prospective students, describe the opportunities we offer and sell the idea of studying at Regents
Organised and able to hit set deadlines for delivery of communications
A committed Christian who subscribes to Elim's foundational truths - essential as the role involves selling the spiritual aspects of the college not just the academic aspects Full driving licence
Availability to work with the Marketing Manager at the College campus in Malvern
Hours The role is a zero hours contract and the hours are variable, particularly if attending festivals. Typically, we will expect the role holder to work for 20 hours a week between May and mid-September. These hours can be flexible across the week subject to certain requirements and line manager agreement.
