In this role you will deliver a broad range of outdoor activities in sessions for our Outdoor Explore programme. You must be mindful to meet high standards of customer care and health and safety, maintaining a duty of care whilst providing a positive and memorable experience.
These are casual vacancies so hours will be on an ad hoc basis.
As an Explore Outdoor instructor you will be responsible for groups of children, or families to deliver a range of safe, enjoyable, and exciting outdoor activity sessions ensuring you meet our high standards of customer care.
We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude and interest in the outdoors. Qualifications are not necessary. Essential training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining a safe environment
Setting up lessons and down sessions, including equipment
Providing excellent customer service to enhance the overall experience for our guests.
Communicating effectively with students and families for a positive experience
Supporting the Outdoor Education Manager in projects
Flexibility on shift if support is required elsewhere
Travelling to locations around West Suffolk to deliver sessions (mileage is paid appropriately)
Requirements:
Responsible individual with a passion for working in leisure, health, and well-being.
Prior experience of Outdoor Instructing (not essential)
Managing a group of people/children
Strong commitment to safety and the well-being of others.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be aged 18 years or over and hold a valid UK driving licence.
Abbeycroft will carry out an enhanced DBS check on any candidate offered a role following our strict safeguarding procedures.
For Senior Lead Outdoor Instructors, relevant Educational or Outdoor Qualifications are required, such as: Level 3 Forest School Leader, Mountain Leader, Climbing Wall instructor
All essential training will be provided to successful candidates
