About the roleThis is a hugely exciting time to be joining the Student Financial Support team as we look to expand our growth in our scholarship's portfolio. Our new will transform our ability to support underrepresented groups, here in the UK and abroad, to enter into and excel in our STEMB degree programmes.An excellent opportunity has opened for an experienced scholarships and student financial support administrator in our Student Financial Support team. Acting as the point of contact and administrator for our centrally managed undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research scholarships, you will have strong attention to detail, financial reporting skills and understand the importance of delivering excellent customer service.What you would be doing

  • You will be responsible for co-ordinating the full scholarship cycle, including advertisement, processing applications and awarding the scholars for our undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research awards.
  • Your work in administering scholarships will include, but not limited to:
  • Planning the scholarships process to be in- line with internal and external deadlines throughout the year.
  • Managing the scholarship application forms
  • Organising and supporting scholarship selection panels
  • Managing the successful allocation and awarding process.
  • Organising accurate, timely and efficient payments to students.
  • Your customer service duties will include but not limited to:
  • Providing advice to prospective students and their families
  • Being the point of contact for students, staff and faculty for post-award questions
  • You will assist with all aspects of Student Financial Support, in order to support our single student funding advice service to students, applicants and College colleagues.
  • You will assist with the processing of U.S. Federal and private loans, advising and assisting students with the application process.
  • You will advise, assess and administer the College's Student Support Fund.
  • You will deliver and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external staff and donors.
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience at similar level
  • Commitment to continual professional development in the area of student financial support
  • Proven experience as a cooperative team member who can also work independently.
  • Experience of using and managing databases to store, manipulate and retrieve information.
  • A proven ethos of providing a positive and responsive customer-focused service, including sensitivity to the needs of your customers
  • Experience of planning and progressing work activities within general guidelines, using initiative and judgment, making decisions where necessary
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively in order to achieve short, medium and long- term objectives
  • Experience of data analysis and calculations, presenting findings accurately and appropriately to support effective reporting of information
  • Meticulous, organised and very well-structured administrative skills
  • A high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail
  • First rate oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Advanced IT skills (word for general administrative duties and mail merge, excel with an understanding of V-Lookups, pivot tables, email and use of databases)
  • Professionally and personally committed to completing tasks successfully and produce consistently excellent results at work.
