Grade UE06: 34,132 to 39,355 per annum, pro-rata

Part-time: 28 hours per week

The Opportunity:



The Centre for Open Learning are seeking to recruit a part-time Student Adviser.


Student Advisers are one of the first points of contact for students, providing guidance and support to those navigating the University support systems. Working closely with academic and professional services teams, the role will enable students to achieve their potential, as well as ensuring parity of experience for all students.


The post is open-ended and part-time (28 hours per week) as part of a job share. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday - Thursday. Student Advisers in COL support mainly campus-based students but we do offer the option for hybrid working.


Your skills and attributes for success:



Knowledge of and sensitivity to the complex areas of student wellbeing and support Excellent active listening and communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and being able to provide a safe, welcoming space for students in distress Ability to make decisions independently and prioritise workload whilst facing conflicting demands Constructive team player demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively
