Head of the Farming for one of the leading Rural business lines. Accountable for the creation and implementation of the Company's Farming business strategy in the short medium and longer term.
Responsibilities
Working in conjunction with the Head of Rural to implement effective business plans and vision
Accountable for delivery of the agreed strategy and driving high performance across the Farming department as a whole
A key focus on driving a business development culture in order to cultivating existing clients and establishing new clients
Retain responsibility for managing own client relationships
Oversight of processes in order to drive quality and profitability
Work in conjunction with the Head of Rural to develop a culture of process improvement through training, communication and development of appropriate systems and processes
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (RICS, CAAV)
Accountable for P&L for the Farming department
Accountable for the achievement of budgets and reforecast of the Farming department
Communicate financial information to the relevant persons in the Farming department
Be a visionary and inspirational leader
Actively communicate and drive the vision of the Company
Accountable for hiring and driving a high performance workforce
Inspire, coach, mentor and develop successors, identifying top talent
Instil an ethos of business development throughout the business line
Role model for organisational behaviour
Coach and mentor key people in the business line and client development best practice
Identify and facilitate key cross-selling business opportunities between the regions and London and the wider European business where pertinent
Figurehead for Strutt and Parker and increase the Company profile at industry events across the region
Responsible for overall client satisfaction and monitoring quality of business undertaken.
Strategic planning and execution of regional business development plans and targets up to a 5 year horizon
Accountable for process reviews in order to improve quality and profitability
Accountable for the compliance with Anti Money Laundering regulations and KYC process on a regional basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educated to degree level
MRICS as an option
CAAV
Qualified agronomist
Must hold full, valid driving licence
EXPERIENCE
--------------
Demonstrable record of the Farming sector with a strong consultancy and transactional background
Previous experience of running a significant and profitable P&L and with substantial evidence of enhancing performance through growth and profitability
Strong market profile as both a leader and new business generator
Key Skills
Competent and experienced qualified agronomist and agricultural valuer with experience of delivering work across a range of projects
Demonstrate team leadership potential, capable of building relationships with existing and new clients and generating new opportunities
Possess a composed manner in order to be able to work under pressure
Good time management and ability to prioritise workloads
Ability to meet deadlines
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills - must be capable of building and maintaining good relationships with team members, other colleagues and clients
Confident manner with clients and the team
Flexible approach to work and hours undertaken
An understanding of confidentiality issues and the use of discretion
