In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of our stores and stock, ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are readily available to support the smooth delivery of our HVAC projects. You will report to our Central Procurement Manager. It is imperative that you have initiative, have a methodical approach to your daily tasks along with a willingness to learn the equipment and stock that is used for the installation of HVAC equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prioritise workload based on business needs to maximise productivity.
Organise and coordinate the picking and packing of orders to be collected along with despatching where required.
Transfer equipment and goods using manual handling, pallet trucks, or forklifts, adhering to health & safety requirements.
Receive incoming goods, perform quantity checks, and ensure quality standards are met.
Check stock levels regularly and report any deficiencies in products or raw materials.
Safely store products and materials, ensuring proper organisation and easy access.
Report any shortage or defective products/items to the Central Procurement Manager, Supplier, or Project Manager.
Keep management/line manager informed by providing updates on stock levels, product status, and operational tasks.
Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining store equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Post inventory movements (incoming and outgoing) and maintain accurate stock records.
Maintain inventory control and implement loss prevention strategies.
Ensure clear communication with both Project Managers and Site Managers/Engineers, providing timely updates on stock requests and status of.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, assisting in the creation, development, and maintenance of product and pricing agreements.
Perform general maintenance and warehouse duties to ensure smooth operation of the stores.
Maintain good housekeeping practices to reduce potential hazards, spills and improve overall efficiency.
Review and report on key store metrics (e.g., sales, transactions, usage, condition) to ensure continuous improvement.
Provide general operational support within the stores department to site teams.
Maintain and organise company vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and compliant with DVA regulations.
Book and manage servicing, PSV, and other required checks for all company vehicles.
Record and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safe storage and upkeep.
Follow company safety and quality procedures, ensuring a safe working environment within the stores.
Implement store procedures to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
Record, issue, and manage PPE and uniform stock, ensuring compliance and safe storage.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast paced environment meeting deadlines of tasks
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and able to proficiently use a computer
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
Honest, with good work ethic
Previous experience in a similar role ideal, but not essential as full training will be provided
Forklift training (preferred, but not essential as training can be arranged)
CSR Card (preferred, but not essential as training can be arranged)
UK Drivers Licence to include Category C1 (preferred, but not essential)
