An exciting opportunity has arisen within Travel Retail Europe, Middle East & India Africa (EMA) to appoint a Store Design and Visual Merchandising (SDVM) Director. The role is based in our London head office and will report to the Senior Vice President of Store Design and Visual Merchandising, Travel Retail Worldwide, based in New York, with a matrix reporting to the Vice President / General Manager of Travel Retail EMA.
This role will spearhead the innovation and creation of new and exciting concepts at point of sale for Travel Retail EMA, ensuring that all Store Design and Visual Merchandising projects are designed, developed, and installed on time and within the agreed budget corporately. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the design criteria/and development of the smaller brands that the company acquires. In addition, they will manage the project management team currently overseeing the construction timelines, budgets, all SAP, and capitol related procurement activity.
This role specializes in handling complex design/ mulitbranded projects, and corporate store building from concept generalization through implementation geared towards prestige cosmetics and fashion lifestyle design. The role is also responsible for the creation of Travel Retail points of sale giving enhanced visibility in passenger focused environments that improve brand awareness to the unique traveling global consumer that has a multiplicity of linguistic and cultural variations.
Leadership responsibilities include, empowering and mobilizing project managers and design team, through innovative, exemplary, and reliable direction. Nurturing an idea-sharing environment, encouraging, and embracing both positive and sceptical input to brainstorm best practices, harvest resources, and plan new seeds for ongoing organizational growth. In addition, they will be expected to train the relevant designers and managers in coordination with the relevant brand store design/VM departments in New York, including TR design teams and the other regions.
