The Role:

We are looking for a Premises Officer to join our great team, with a proactive attitude, and the ability to use their own initiative to carry out tasks. You will need to have the skills to communicate with parents, children, staff and a range of internal and external agencies, to ensure that the school provides a safe and happy learning environment.

We are located in Honor Oak a suburban area in the London Borough of Lewisham. The school has excellent transport links within walking distance to the school.

Stillness Junior School is situated across three buildings, with a range of facilities including a multipurpose hall, Music suite, Art studio, Library and outdoor sports amenities. The site is shared with Stillness Infants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Opening and locking of gates, doors and buildings as appropriate.

• Monitoring and undertaking cleaning duties as instructed to provide a safe, clean and hygienic environment for staff, pupils and visitors to the site.
• Responsible for maintaining Health and Safety records for the sites e.g. fire safety, legionella and asbestos etc.
• Regularly inspect the buildings, fixtures, furniture and grounds for minor work or repairs to be carried out to ensure safe and satisfactory conditions.

\xc2\xb7 Complying and be aware of policies and procedures such as: child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality with reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Experience and Training:

• Handyperson experience is advantageous.
• Premises Officer experience in a school or similar environment would be preferable, although not essential

Further Information:

Hours of work: 35 hours Monday - Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm (negotiable)

Visits to the school available on Wednesday 16^th August or Thursday 17^th August 2023 9am-1pm. Please email admin@stillnessjs.lewisham.sch.uk to arrange a time slot.

An enhanced DBS check will be requested for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education Legislation. We will also request at least two references from current / past employers. Original evidence of right to work within the UK will be required prior to commencement of employment i.e. National Insurance Number, Work Permit, Indefinite Leave to Remain.
