This role can be based in either London or Peterborough offices (hybrid working).

Are you ready to lead a dynamic team of engineers towards innovation and excellence? Look no further than Compare the Market!

Working in conjunction with our other Staff Engineers, you'll spearhead the evolution of our engineering landscape, elevating our teams to new heights of excellence. You'll craft architectural marvels, tackle complex challenges head-on, and mentor junior talents to unlock their full potential. Aligned with our technical and product leadership, you'll drive success for both our customers and our business. Your commitment to engineering excellence will shape not only your domain but also contribute to our wider community of innovation.

Role Responsibilities:

Raise the bar for engineering excellence across your domain, fostering alignment and best practices. Develop short to medium-term strategies, designing roadmaps for evolving our products and services. Provide guidance on service delivery, collaborating with fellow engineers and reducing complexity. Advocate for engineering excellence, contributing to company-wide standards and processes. Drive adoption of standards and processes across the organization, providing technical input into planning. Take a risk-based approach to decision-making, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

What we'd like to see from you:

Experience leading engineering teams towards a shared technical vision. Proven track record in making architectural decisions that meet customer and commercial needs. Strong influencer and negotiator, adept at managing stakeholder relationships. Proficiency in building scalable platforms (front and back end) to ensure great customer experiences. Advocate of lean principles, with a passion for research and development. Active learner, staying abreast of industry developments. Structured approach to governance and standards, dedicated to engineering excellence
