Job summary




This stores operative positing is within a flying squadron in the Ministry of Defence(MOD). The Sqn Tool Stores or 'Issuing Centre' functions as the centralised secure

hold for all maintenance tools from Test and Measuring equipment to on aircraft handheld tools. It is the first level within an effective tool control system and is

essential to ensuring legal compliance with orders and the Quality Management System of the organisation.This dynamic position is critical to in the safe maintenance

and operation of aircraft underpinning defence output. The daily management of this store will involve a wide range of activities from correctly accounting and controlling

the transaction of contents through to scheduling maintenance requirements and undertaking continuous improvement.###

Job description




The Tools Storekeeper will be responsible to Engineering Management, to carry out the following tasks in accordance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Policy:

Responsible for the daily operation of the Issuing Centre, including controlling the issue/return of all tools and equipment as well as their maintenance. Providing oversight for equipment inventories and the maintenance of Main Operating Base and deployable hand tools, toolkits and tool tally boards held within
the Sqn's Tool Issue Centre.
Management of Test and Measuring Equipment including the assurance of regular mandated servicing schedules. Engagement with third party contractors to facilitate the management and control
of tools within their area of responsibility.
Accurate updating and maintaining of the electronic maintenance recording and forecasting system. Apply and enforce all appropriate and necessary Health & Safety measures and MAA
means of compliance.
The working pattern is based on a 37 hour week over 5 days, Monday to Friday.This is subject to amendment with business need. ###

Essential Criteria



Able to work independently, exercise judgement and demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving.

Takes pride in providing a high-quality service, with a keen eye of detail and delivering at pace in accordance with defined procedures.

Proficient in the use of the Microsoft 365 suite and applications such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and One Note.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Ability to work as part of an effective team on ad-hoc tasks.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Highly organised, with good time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to maximise productivity.

Desirable Criteria



Previous experience within the Defence Air Environment and knowledge of MAA engineering practices.

Previous experience with the distribution and control of aircraft tools as well as their maintenance.
