Who are Forbes of Kingennie?

Forbes of Kingennie Lodges have much to offer visitors of all ages, whether looking for pure relaxation or activity-packed holidays, in Scotland. We are the ideal touring base, being virtually at the geographical 'hub' of Scotland in Angus near Dundee and Tayside, with the most extraordinary variety of wonderful scenery on our doorstep.

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a Sports Assistant to join our team. It is an opportunity to work in a beautiful outdoor setting and combining customer service. This is a hands-on role, working in both the sports shop and around our picturesque ponds. If you have a friendly personality, a strong work ethic, and a love for golf or fishing, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

In the Sports Shop: + Take bookings and check-in customers for golf and fishing activities.
+ Provide excellent customer service by serving customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
+ Replenish stock and assist with stock-taking and stock ordering.
+ Handle customer enquiries via phone and email.
+ Perform general housekeeping duties: cleaning the shop, merchandising, and maintaining a tidy environment.
Around the Ponds & Golf Course: + Ensure the ponds are well-maintained, including litter picking, weeding, raking, and emptying litter bins.
+ Check that customers are adhering to the rules and regulations of the ponds and golf course.
+ Use a golf buggy to patrol the golf course and ensure golfers are following proper etiquette and rules.
Additional Responsibilities: + Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of the golf course and surrounding areas.
+ Provide a high level of customer service in every interaction, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Required Skills & Experience:

Retail experience is preferred, but not essential. Knowledge of golf and/or fishing is beneficial. Previous experience working in a fishery or golf course is an advantage. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working in outdoor environments and performing physical tasks. A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong attention to detail.

What do we expect from you?

We expect you to be the best you can be, and take responsibility to ensure this happens, by striving to provide an environment that is filled with energy and creativity.

If you would like to be part of a great and hardworking team, then we would love to hear from you.
