An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to be an integral part of our excellent Childrens Therapy service in Peterborough, Lincolnshire and surrounding areas. We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist on a full or part time basis across our Peterborough and Spalding clinics.



We are looking for a speech therapist who has knowledge and experience of working in community settings - homes, schools and a clinic settings. Any potential candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with children of all ages and who have a range of speech, language and communication needs.

If successful you will be working with children and young people in a number of settings, completing assessments and intervention for a wide variety of conditions. You will be an integral part of our innovative and supportive paediatric team, working closely with Occupational Therapy colleagues and other professionals.

Your responsibilities



Assess children's speech, language, and communication abilities. Diagnose communication disorders and determine their severity. Create individualised treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide therapy sessions to address speech and language goals. Educate parents on supporting their child's communication development. Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child's care.
To be eligible for consideration, it is essential that you have a degree in speech and language therapy approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). Paediatric experience is also essential.

Where you will be working



Location:

Thorney Road, Eye, Peterborough, PE6 7UN and one day community based appointments.

You will be working at Bursting with Potential, which is a small independent therapy service with good facilities, covering the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire areas. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, intervention and support for children and young people 0-25 with SEND and their families. At times our clients may be experiencing mental health difficulties or behaviours that challenge. The role includes travelling to community appointments and schools and requires a driver with use of a car.

Salary is competitive and will be based on experience and hours worked.
