Contract Type: Permanent (3 days a week, School Term)

Our Client is a SEN School in Oxford is seeking a talented and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their team. They are a leading educational institution committed to providing exceptional support and education to students with special educational needs. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student\xe2\x80\x99s speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop individualised therapy plans to address student\xe2\x80\x99s specific needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy sessions to improve student\xe2\x80\x99s speech and language skills, including articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and social communication.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies that promote effective communication within the classroom and home settings.
  • Support students in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when necessary.
  • Monitor and track student\xe2\x80\x99s progress, adjust therapy plans as needed, and maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Offer training and guidance to teachers and support staff on effective communication strategies to enhance student\xe2\x80\x99s learning experiences.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to student\xe2\x80\x99s overall development and well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualised therapy plans based on student\xe2\x80\x99s unique needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students with special educational needs.
