The Opportunity

We are seeking a

compassionate, resilient, and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant

to support a wonderful Year 2 boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who is working on a

personalised curriculum at pre-key stage level

.

This is a highly rewarding 1:1 role for a TA who can offer

stability, warmth, and clear structure

--particularly important as this young learner is growing in his physical communication and does not currently have a father figure at home.

About the Child

A bright and curious boy with

some verbal communication

(bilingual in Spanish and English). Passionate about

trains

--this special interest is a great bridge for connection and engagement. Benefits from a

calm, consistent adult who can model positive interaction and build trust

. Requires support in

emotional regulation, social skills, and communication

, using his strengths as a starting point.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience supporting children with ASD and/or complex communication needs. Ability to maintain

firm, fair boundaries with empathy and patience

. Comfortable using or learning communication strategies such as

PECS, visuals, or Makaton

. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with the child, the family, and the wider school team.

Interest in play-based learning and sensory approaches

. Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus, but not essential.
