We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Social worker who is passionate about safeguarding.As a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner you will be Responsible for supporting the operational leadership of safeguarding within Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT).Working as part of the Trust Safeguarding Team to promote the Safeguarding agenda and'Think Family' approach embedding a culture of professional curiosity Trust wide.Delivering effective compassionate safeguarding advice, support and supervision under the direction of theNamed Nurse.Ensuring that the Trust meets its statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of all adults, children and young people under NSFT.Main duties of the jobTo meet statutory requirements of the Care Act, 2014, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 and in the Intercollegiate Documents for Safeguarding Adults and for Safeguarding Children and Young People: Roles and Competences for Health Care Staff 2018.Responsible for supporting the operational leadership of safeguarding within Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT).Responsible for the day-to-day management of issues arising in relation to safeguarding including but not limited to; professional investigations, Serious Incident investigations, provision of expert advice and consultation for staff, provision of safeguarding training, attendance at safeguarding partnership sub groups as appropriate, locality governance and team meetings, audit and deputising for the Named Nurse.The post holder will take the lead on appropriate areas of the safeguarding remit to progress the safeguarding agenda across the Trust.The post holder will function as an autonomous practitioner to provide leadership and governance across the operational landscape to promote the remit of safeguarding as delegated by the Named Nurse.The post holder will provide specialist safeguarding training to staff in line with national and local guidelines and policy.About usHere at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other.
